Getting Back On Track

Oct 13, 2025

I’ve been running for almost 10 years now. I wouldn’t say I LOVE running, more adjacent to loving it…lol.

I’m training for an upcoming 10k Spartan race 5 weeks from now. I’m not worried about being able to complete it, I’ve been putting in the reps with strength training and with the miles.

BUT…my 15 year old son want’s to see how he stacks up against dad…and there is NO WAY I am going to go easy on him.

I’m training to crush it. I’m training to show my son that he will still be able to be in his PRIME 30 years from now.

And today on the run, I saw this huge machine used for clearing the sides of the canal. One of the tracks sitting on the side. The machine sitting there, not able to do any work because one of the tracks came off somehow.

How often do I find myself with one of my own ‘tracks’ having slipped off. Moments where I have to do the maintenance on myself to keep all the systems working so I can keep going.

Doing my core four habits every. single. day. The daily maintenance on my inner self so I can show up where I need to every. single. day.

Easier to stay on track than having to get back on track.
